why VISTA automatically disable "file and printer sharing for MS network"?
My company has a 2003 AD environment. some clients are XPP, some are VistaB. I recently found from DC, I can't access some Vista's share. From my investagation, the reason is the service "File and printer sharing for MS network" (from NIC property) is unchecked. Although I remember they are checked before, I re-checked tham again. But after some days, they had been automatically unchecked again! this is only happened for vista (but not all), and users only have "power user" right. Anyone knows why?

Hi, Mostly, this issue is caused by network adapter driver or incorrect networking settings. You can try to uninstall the network adapter driver and install the latest version to troubleshoot this issue. However, Microsoft have an internal tool to enable "File and printer sharing for Microsoft network" service on all client computers. You can contact Microsoft Customer Support Service (CSS), they will send this tool to you. To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request please take a look at the web site listed below: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;PHONENUMBERS If you are outside the US please see http://support.microsoft.com for regional support phone numbers. Hope it helps.
